- ASUS ZenBook Flip S UX371
- USB-C charging Adapter
- USB-A to Ethernet adapter

Measuring at just 13.9mm thin and with a weight of mere 1.2kg, the UX371 claims to the world’s thinnest convertible laptop with an OLED display.
The ZenBook Flip S UX371 looks elegant and well-made. It is entirely made out of aluminum and features a dark gray (Jade Black) color scheme with red copper diamond-cut accents. However, this darker color shows smudges easily, especially on the top lid.
ASUS ZenBook Flip S UX371 features the 360° ErgoLift hinge design, which allows the display to be flipped; it can be used as a notebook, tablet, folded to stand or as a tent. The ErgoLift hinge is also designed to lift and tilt the laptop to provide more comfortable typing experience along while improving cooling airflow when the display is opened.
It can also be flipped and placed flat on a surface and the display orientation can be rotated towards the viewer. According to ASUS, the hinge is durability tested for over 20,000 open/close cycles.
Ports & Connectivity
On the left side are two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with up to 40 Gbps bandwidth and a HDMI 1.4 port. The USB-C ports also supports charging and the UX371 can be powered using any standard USB-C charger or a power bank.
On the right is the power button and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port. In terms of wireless connectivity, it comes with a built‑in dual‑band Intel AX201 WiFi 6 (802.11ax) wireless network card and Bluetooth 5.0.
Display
The ZenBook Flip S UX371 packs a fantastic 4K UHD OLED touchscreen panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 and supports HDR. The NanoEdge display has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 a response time of 0.2ms, supports ASUS pen and up-to 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The display has a brightness of 500 nits with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, PANTONE and DisplayHDR 500 True Black Validated and is TÜV Rheinland-certified for eye care. This is an excellent screen for entertainment, work and tasks that require color accuracy.
The bezels are very narrow and the display brightness is good enough for outdoor use or in spaces with sunlight.
Keyboard & Trackpad
The UX371 features edge-to-edge keyboard with a 1.4mm key travel and separate function keys. The keyboard has LED backlights and is fairly visible in all conditions.
While the keyboard is comfortable enough, typing can take some time getting used to as the keys are smaller than standard.
The UX371 features a large touchpad with a glass surface and has good response. There is no separate numpad here, instead, the touchpad doubles as a LED-illuminated numeric numpad with the tap of a button and supports up to four-finger gestures.
Performance & Benchmarks
Powered by the latest 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, The UX371 offers with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
CPU, GPU & RAM
The i7-1165G7 has four cores at a clock frequency of 2.80 GHz each reaching up to 4.70 GHz with eight threads, offering good multitasking performance .
The UX371 is powered by the new Intel Xe graphics which is powerful enough for daily tasks, work and photo editing. However, gaming performance is really poor and most games fail to achieve playable frame rates.
In terms of RAM, The UX371 is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM at a frequency of 4266MHz.
Storage
Our review unit came with a 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 SSD. However, depending on the region, they may be different.
The SSD offers great performance with read speeds of up to 3,362MB per second and write of up to 3090MB.

Temperature & Noise
Temperatures when idle are generally cool. When running intensive apps, the laptop gets hot in areas such as under the screen and the base area. Fortunately, the palm rests and the keyboard stays cool even under heavy usage.
For heat dissipation, the UX371 uses a single dedicated fan. It stays quiet as long as you use the default Windows power plan but picks up rather quickly on other modes.
Upgradeability
Access to the internal components requires loosening 9 Torx screws found at the base. The memory is soldered on to the motherboard and the only the SSD can be upgraded on the UX371.
Software
The UX371 comes with the standard MyAsus app which let’s you control power profiles, battery and screen settings, updates, etc, while the Audio is controlled using AudioWizard.
Audio
There are two stereo speakers located on the lower front edge and directs the sound towards the bottom. one on each side, with an output of 2 watts. The speakers are loud enough to fill small to medium-sized rooms with minimal distortion, but they lack bass.
The quality is good for calls or conferences, while media playback will be better with headphones. There is no 3.5mm port on the laptop and the included USB-C adapter needs to be used to connect the same.
Battery
The UX371 packs a 67Wh lithium-polymer battery and promises an incredible battery life of 10 hours on a single charge and can quick charge up to 60% in just forty-nine minutes.
Based on the usage and screen brightness, the UX371 lasts between six to nine hours. When browsing the internet, you can expect around eight hours of battery time.
In terms of charging, it took 1 hour 30 minutes to charge back from 0% to 100%. One thing to note here is that the power adaptor is very compact and short, it can send the laptop flying if you are not careful with the cables.
Idle (one third brightness, no WiFI) | 9h 40 min |
Web Browsing (one third brightness) | 8h 32 min |
Video Playback (one third brightness) | 7h 12 min |
Verdict
The ZenBook Flip S is a premium 2-in-1 ultrabook with a fantastic 4K OLED display, brand-new Tiger Lake processor, great build quality and decent battery life.
In terms of performance, the new Core i7-1165G7 is great for everyday tasks and work. The only downside here is the price, there are really some good 10th-gen Intel and Ryzen 4000 alternatives currently available for much cheaper, although not as stylish or slim.
