Samsung Galaxy Ring Everything You Need to Know

You might’ve seen the tiny gleaming ring worn and flaunted by Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston. Known for its interesting and unique features, Oura ring was in the news a few years ago, precisely when the pandemic affected us. Oura ring is again in the news, but it is not hitting the headlines this time. Instead, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is the talk of the town, and the Oura ring is the opponent.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: Feature highlight

Like any other smartwatch or smart ring, the Galaxy Ring comes with 24/7 health and fitness trackers. It looks similar to its competitors. What makes it special is the fact that it is the thinnest smart ring. It is discreet and versatile with a bland design. It doesn’t ask for attention! You can wear it casually, formally, or occasionally. It stays camouflaged in any wardrobe. The concave shape gives it a slim look without bothering the adjacent fingers. Compared to other smart rings, it has smaller dimensions (7mm wide and 2.6mm thick). The dimensions and the design make the Samsung Galaxy Ring literally ‘wearable’!

When worn with your regular fancy rings, the Galaxy Ring might seem bigger. But bigger is not synonymous with heavier. Based on size, the Galaxy Ring weighs between 2.3 and 3g. The ring comes in a cute charging case. You can leave your Samsung Galaxy Ring in this case when you don’t want to wear them. You can also keep the ring secure inside the case while charging. While most charging cases hold at least two charges, this case can only hold 1.5 charges.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Health Tracking

To put it simply, Galaxy Ring is a health tracker wherein you can track your sleep, blood oxygen, skin temperature, heart rate metrics and activities. Like in Oura ring, the Galaxy Rings also display a sleep score. Based on that data, you can get access to sleep coaching to improve your sleeping patterns. You’ll get notified about high and low heart rates. Activity tracking on the other hand is found inaccurate by the reviewers.

Samsung Galaxy Ring is better in Samsung Galaxy

It is to be confessed that the ring is designed particularly for Samsung users. Even though one can use it on a non-Samsung Android phone supporting the Samsung Health App, the ring works better on Samsung Galaxy. Specifically, the difference in battery life is notable when you use the ring alone and when you use it with a Galaxy Watch. When you use the ring alone, you get a battery life of between six and seven days. (Six days for ring sizes 5–11 and seven for sizes 12–13.), But when you use the ring with a Galaxy Watch, you can extend that out by an extra 30 percent optimizing the battery life.

The pricing is also has become a matter of discussion with the limitations mentioned above. Priced at $400, some reviewers and testers find the Samsung Galaxy Ring expensive.
