No one could foresee the big news when the OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei departed the company and took a risky road in building ‘Nothing’. Here he is sharing the happiest X’s which reads that Nothing is the world’s fastest growing brand for smartphones and wireless earbuds.

The research conducted by Canalys also states that the London-based technology company Nothing is the fastest-growing smartphone vendor when comparing H1 2023 to H1 2024. It is also the fastest-growing smartphone vendor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Japan, India, Spain and Italy for H1 2023 vs H1 2024. This comes from Nothing positioning itself as the fastest-emerging smartphone vendor with an impressive 246% year-over-year growth during the first half of 2024.

Nothing launched Phone (2a) plus the Special Edition variant whilst its flagship Phone (2) launched in July 2023, ranked 3rd in the price category of $500 and above during Q2 2024 in the UAE market. In terms of the True Wireless Stereo product category, Nothing was the fastest across both H1 2024 (+313%) and Q2 2024 (769%) when compared to the same periods in 2023. Earlier this year, Nothing unveiled Ear and Ear (a) – featuring industry-first integration with ChatGPT.

Not just smartphones, but Nothing has also made notable strides in the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) segment. Compared to the previous year, a growth of 313% in TWS sales was recorded during H1 2024. This indicates Nothing’s consistent focus on innovation and market expansion.

The company’s strategic move to adapt to the varying consumer preferences across different regions and the ability to swiftly scale its operations has fostered its growth. The company is also planning to diversify its product lineup and geographical presence in the coming months.

For now, the numbers are promising. But anything can happen to Nothing. It may sound rude but the lead can be taken by any new or old tech giants. The smartphone vendors theoretically can increase their sales scores by 693 percent. So, who knows if Sony or Motorola can be the next in this race?
