Huawei Tops Global Wearable Shipments for Two Straight Quarters- IDC Reports

Here’s to another good news from Huawei. According to the latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC), Huawei’s dominance in the wearable market is reaching new heights. The report highlights a staggering 55.1% year-on-year increase in Huawei’s shipments of on-the-wrist wearables during the first half of 2024, propelling the tech giant to the top spot globally for two consecutive quarters.

This achievement cements Huawei’s leadership in the highly competitive wearables market. Last year’s HUAWEI WATCH 4 Pro and the HUAWEI WATCH GT 4, and the recently released HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3, have solidified Huawei’s appeal as a brand that blends fashion with industry-leading features. The company’s strong market performance reflects growing consumer trust in the advanced health and fitness tracking features in its wearable products.

Huawei has scheduled its next product launch event on the 19th of this month in Barcelona, with a focus once again on wearables. We might be seeing the new HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series, the new edition of the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate and even the next-generation blood pressure monitoring will be launched in the form of HUAWEI WATCH D 2.

Following the recent launch of the HUAWEI TruSense System, we can expect some big upgrades to the health and fitness tracking features in the new wearables. As Huawei prepares for its next product launch, it is clear that the company is not resting on its laurels. The trajectory suggests a continued focus on integrating even more cutting-edge technology into wearables. It seems that Huawei’s role in shaping the future of wearable tech is far from over.

A little about the upcoming Huawei innovative product launch

Huawei expands the horizon with a major product launch. The launch on 19 September 2024 will showcase a series of innovative products from wearables to tablets. Huawei’s latest offerings are anticipated to challenge Apple’s dominance. Here are the major surprises Huawei has in store for you.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series

One of the major highlights of the upcoming launch event is the anticipation of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series. The new series is expected to feature the recently unveiled HUAWEI TruSense System. It is also expected to prioritize fashion and versatility. Teasers on Huawei’s social media have hinted at sharp-edged geometric designs crafted from premium materials, like metallic titanium alloy and white ceramic, promising a stylish and innovative design.

Next-Generation Blood Pressure Monitor

Speculations are that the next-generation blood pressure monitoring will be launched in the form of HUAWEI WATCH D 2. Huawei has suggested a focus on expanding health-tracking capabilities during the HUAWEI TruSense System launch, with media reports indicating it may introduce ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring) in its wearable devices. This could potentially make it the world’s first smartwatch to support dynamic blood pressure monitoring, a game-changer for users concerned about their health and blood pressure. The last major release in this area was the HUAWEI WATCH D back in 2021, which was EU CE medical certified and praised for its blood pressure measurement capabilities.

The Next Swing for Ultimate

Another anticipated release is the new edition of the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate. It is expected to introduce features focused on golf with a Dual-Colour Bezel design. This comes at a time when there’s a growing demand for wearables with specialized features tailored to users’ hobbies and fitness activities.

However, the future of Huawei is promising as it is leading in the Global Wearable Shipments for Two Straight Quarters. A recent report by Canalys also showed that Huawei scored 51% of annual growth in the global tablet market for Q2 of 2024.
