Google’s new ‘Add Me’ Feature: Include everyone in your photos

Are you the one who clicks pics but wants to be badly clicked? At least when everyone in your circle is posing… No more sighs. You can get a picture of the whole group with Google’s new ‘Add Me’ feature. No one will ever feel left out. Only happy faces from now on.

We indeed take group photos on special occasions. They help us treasure and cherish the wonderful memories. But the one who clicks will mostly be the one who clicks always. Years after, when you revisit your gallery, you will not find even a single click with that one photographer in your gang. Google’s ‘Add Me’ is a great thought to resolve these slightly agonizing and awkward moments.

What is ‘Add Me’?

Google’s ‘Add Me’ is the hottest topic and the latest innovation in the tech world. To put it simply, it is a new group photo feature exclusively available on Pixel 9 phones. The idea of ‘Add Me’ comes from Sebastian Rodriguez, a senior product marketing manager for Google Pixel Camera. While he was busy experimenting with new technology in capturing and enhancing photos, he noticed that he never actually showed up in his family photos. This thought (or maybe his monologue) is the ‘darkroom’ behind Google’s ‘Add Me’.

‘Add Me’ is inclusive not just in terms of what’s been aforementioned, but also it is inclusive for housing amazing features. The Pixels’ signature computational photography is one. The quality of the pictures is exceptional because of the computational photography. Rodriguez credits the quality to Google’s powerful Tensor G4 chip. “Think of Add Me like a camera coach that guides you as you frame your photo and get it aligned,” says Rodriguez.

Using Add Me, Step-to-step guide:

  • You be the photographer and take a group photo.
  • Switch places with someone else who was already in the picture.
  • Now, ask the second photographer to tell you where you should stand in the photo, based on the directions in the viewfinder.
  • Let the second photographer take another picture.
  • Use ‘Add Me’ to stitch together both takes, using AI and augmented reality.

How did that sound? Of course, cool. You can now peacefully chronicle your day wherever you are without always opting for selfies or a stranger passing by. Enjoy clicking pictures with ‘Add Me’ and add more love to your memories. Meanwhile, let’s wait for the latest gadget news from Google Pixel series.
